As we celebrate our 50th vintage in Napa Valley, we’re proud to unveil a milestone transformation at the very heart of V. Sattui Winery: the newly reimagined Mercato del Gusto — Taste of the Market.
This breathtaking renovation elevates our beloved Napa Valley marketplace and tasting room into a warm, vibrant destination where world-class wine, artisan food, and curated hospitality come together under one beautifully redesigned roof.
Honoring Our Roots in Napa Valley Wine Country
Located in the original 1976 winery building, Mercato del Gusto has welcomed guests to V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena for nearly five decades. With its expanded layout and thoughtful design, the renewed space honors our Italian heritage while redefining what a Napa Valley tasting experience can be.
Designed in collaboration with BCV Architecture and Interiors, the new space features wide oak plank floors, Sapele mahogany counters, and abundant natural light through a new roof clerestory. At its heart stands a dramatic 20-foot circular wine bar, crowned by a custom wrought-iron chandelier adorned with 420 bottles of wine — a dazzling tribute to the craft and history of V. Sattui.
An Elevated Napa Valley Wine Tasting Experience
Our redesigned layout now offers fully seated wine tastings, allowing guests to relax, connect, and explore each wine with enhanced pairings that showcase our culinary artistry.
Among our most exciting new offerings is Wines by the Glass, available Sunday through Friday, featuring a rotating selection of acclaimed, small-batch Napa Valley wines poured in generous 5.5-ounce servings. Each glass highlights the depth, diversity, and character of V. Sattui’s winemaking.
Guests can enhance their tasting with artisan cheese and charcuterie boards or indulge in Italian-inspired small plates crafted by Michelin-starred Chef Stefano Masanti. Dishes include Salmon and Dill Carpaccio, Branzino Tartare, Paccheri filled with Carbonara Sauce, Taroz, Vegan Foie Gras, Beef Tartare, and Veal Cheek with Potato Cream. Each plate is artfully designed to pair beautifully with our estate-grown wines.
A Marketplace of Flavor: Wine, Food & Friendship
The expanded seasonal deli menu, led by Chef Jeffrey Lloyd and our talented culinary team, celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients and the joy of food made to share. Guests can enjoy panini, pastas, salads, and house-made desserts such as tiramisu, fruit tarts, and our signature gelato and sorbetto.
A highlight of the new Mercato is our expanded cheese and charcuterie program, curated by V. Sattui’s new cheesemonger, James Ayers. With over 250 cheeses from around the world and a rich selection of premium salumi, including specialties house-cured in our own salumeria, guests can discover inspired food and wine pairings that celebrate flavor and craftsmanship.
James brings his expertise and passion to every interaction—offering guided tastings, personalized recommendations, and a deeper understanding of how to pair cheese and wine like a pro.

Every detail of the Mercato del Gusto was crafted to enhance the guest experience. The reimagined space features a 26-foot refrigerated cheese wall, Italian deli and cheese cases, a central grab-and-go island, and an expanded wine shop filled with gifts, gourmet finds, and exclusive Napa Valley wines.
While a few exterior finishing touches are still underway, the interior is now fully open — ready to welcome guests back to the heart of V. Sattui Winery.
