Angelica is a fortified wine traditionally associated with the Mission grape, from which it was made since the early days of California winemaking. V. Sattui instead uses the fresh juice of the Muscat of Alexandria grape and enhances it with brandy.

It’s a full-bodied and elegant liqueur-like wine, a little sweeter than most ports, with a light amber to pale-salmon color and a smooth, silky mouthfeel. We arrest the fermentation of the wine at an early stage with the addition of an almost 20-year-old pot-still brandy from Carneros, causing the grapes to retain the maximum of their sugar content, around 15% residual, and an alcohol of about 18%. Store in a cool spot, chill in the refrigerator just before opening and serve as an aperitif or dessert wine. After opening it will keep well in the refrigerator for weeks or months.
