Mounts Vineyard has been a source of premium wine grapes in the Dry Creek Valley, so renowned for world-class Zinfandel, for more than sixty years. With three generations of farming the same area, the Mounts family uses the knowledge of each block’s unique exposure and soil texture when choosing rootstock, clone and trellis design. This careful consideration allows for excellent vine balance, giving the maximum expression of fruit character, balance and structure to this, our second bottling of Mounts Vineyard Zinfandel.

The 2011 Mounts Zin has a nose of dusty herb and sage, along with hints of strawberry preserves. It’s a plush and plumy wine with fine-grained tannins and the kind of laser-focused, concentrated red-plum fruit and graphite notes that many will appreciate. Enjoy now and over the next three years with skewered spiced lamb or peppery flank steak.
