2010 Muscat

There’s a very sensual allure about our Muscat dessert wine. It’s related to the Moscato made in the northern Italian province of Piedmonte in the Asti area where Moscato di Canelli is the grape used. These grapes yield a wine that is highly scented and very distinguishable, with the pronounced aromas of ripe peach, orange blossom and spice.

he taste of our Muscat is more like fruit juice than wine, for it is grown in a warmer area than the Italian version; and, despite being picked at higher sugars, the natural sugar is only partially fermented into wine (only about 10% alcohol), leaving a high residual grape sugar of about 7%. We’re able to capture intense fruitiness by picking the grapes a little riper than our Rieslings or Gamay, then cold-fermenting the wine at approximately 50 degrees while adjusting the acid upward with tartaric when necessary to obtain the desired sugar/acid balance. After several rackings for clarification, cold and heat stabilization and a filtration prior to bottling, we release the wine almost immediately, while it is fresh and fruity.

Years ago my husband visited the winery and brought home this wine. We love it. We have ordered on line several times over the years. Would recommend the Muscat.

I have the reason to visit St Helena and enjoy Muscat wine at the picnic area again and again. This is highly recommended.

I bought this wine yesterday! But I want to know how long can I keep it? how long can I keep this after I open it?

We came across this when we visited the winery several years ago. Been ordering it every year. Very full bodies sweet taste but retains the crisp tart wine taste - not like sweet grape juice. Really well done. Just got a new case shipped to us last week. Very good value and our friends love it as well. Hard to keep in stock here in our home. Highly recommend it! They also have a spiced Riesling that is extraordinary with Ribs (yes - a white wine with pork ribs).

I got this as a gift. After tasting it, my wife and I just got glued to it. We ordered our first case and now followed by our second case. It is just irresistible.
