ANCIENT VINE ZINFANDEL
Nestled in the upper reaches of the Russian River Valley and lying within the Chalk Hill AVA, these 80 year old vines produce an earthy, complex Zin with a fiery streak of black pepper and layer upon layer of complexity. Just begging to be paired with a pepper crusted rib eye.
From head-trained, dry-farmed vines in Dry Creek Valley, this old-vine Zinfandel has intense deep blackberry aromas and an extraordinary concentration of ripe flavors accented with aromatic spice and toasty oak. The dark fruit flavors are persistent, enveloped in a velvety texture.
Planted between 1916 and 1918 in the Dry Creek Valley near Geyserville in northern Sonoma County, the oldest vines in Joe Ramazzotti’s hallowed vineyard came from the old Mazzoni Zinfandel clone, thought to be on e of the original heritage clones dating back to the mid-19th century.
Our Family Cabernet is always a wine that you don’t have to wait on to develop and that you can open any day of the week. It’s usually always made from Napa Valley grapes and is often a blend; but what we try to achieve is a soft, appealing style of Cabernet that’s drinkable now while it’s young.
OLD-VINE ZINFANDEL
This spectacular Zin is an eye-opener. Grown in the fertile Lodi area where Zinfandel has a long history, this is vibrant and delicious, with ripe blueberry and sweet spice. Easy to drink, this one’s already a winner.
**NEW VINTAGE**
The ‘09 Napa Valley Cabernet is a perfect example of concentration and intensity. Dark, brooding and inky, this blend of Cabernets from Stagecoach, Henry, Preston and Vittorio’s Vineyards—along with 3% Petit Verdot —even at 3½ years old, is still coming out of its barrel-bound slumber. The aromas of black fruits are clearly there in the nose, promising richer rewards with additional aging. The ripe fruit flavors are simmering under a blanket of moderate tannins from 18 months in new French oak.
This 100% Chardonnay hails from four of the best blocks from our premium Chardonnay sources—Carsi Vineyard (50%) and from Block #10 in our Henry Ranch - Carneros (50%). It was barrel fermented Sur Lie (sediment mixed in) and aged for 9 months in 100% new, French Oak. Approximately 1/3 of this wine experienced a Malo Lactic fermentation.
Lovers of suave, rich, mouth-filling Chardonnays will find great appeal in this Reserve Stock bottling.
Sweetly scented with cherry fruit and notes of clove and cinnamon, our estate-grown Pinot Noir from our cool Carneros vineyard at Henry Ranch is deeply flavored and complex.
From the Dry Creek Valley renowned for world-class Zinfandels. This Zinfandel is solidly built, yet shows remarkable constraint and a slight edge of spiciness.
