Fall in Napa Valley, although late, arrived nonetheless and Megan and David enjoyed a beautiful evening wedding. With the scent of harvest in the air, the couple was joined by friends and family in V. Sattui's courtyard for a cool evening ceremony. The night was filled with fun, love, and laughter as guests danced and enjoyed V. Sattui wines. We wish Megan and David the best and look forward to their return visit!

There are few experiences greater than being in the Napa Valley in Autumn. Driving around at night when the air becomes colder and heavy, you can smell deep, profound aromas emanating from the pressed skins (called pomace) in the vineyards which literally perfume the air.

……….And the colors!! Vibrant colors bounce off a mantle of green grass brought about by fall rains. Did you ever wonder why certain vineyards become yellow and others red or both? Probably not. Well, without becoming too technical here is what you don’t see.
The petiole (leaf stem) swells with the onset of colder and longer nights which does two things. It causes the Palisade layers in the leaf to collapse and chlorophyll production ceases turning the leaf yellow instead of green.
Secondly, at this time of year, all of the vine’s energy is now headed for the roots where it will be stored for bud break and initial shoot development next spring. Some vines and vineyards have contracted virus infections carried by mealy bugs or nematodes. This interferes with the movement of fluids in the vine and some of the anthocyanins (the stuff that makes tannin in wine) are trapped in the leaves turning them completely red or a mottled red. Some examples are Red Leaf Roll and Red Leaf Mosaic which effects the leaves more than the vines. The vines will wake up around mid March, as they do every year, and they will be just fine.
You probably will not be able to look at a vineyard the same way again. In any event, when you are about to enjoy a glass of V. Sattui wine, just give our vineyards a little mental toast for all of the hard work they do.
Kellie and Travis, the lovely couple from Georgia, held a beautiful courtyard ceremony. With the flowers in bloom and the sun setting, family and friends celebrated the couple in V. Sattui's barrel room. Photography by Marc Blondin showcased the amazing evening and we can't wait for them to visit us soon!
Esther and Jonathan celebrated their special day on a warm summer evening at V. Sattui. Family and friends watched as the happy couple was joined in marriage during a stunning courtyard ceremony. The night played on with a beautiful cadence, and guests danced away the night in the barrel room. We wish Esther and Jonathan the best as they start a new chapter in their lives!
Angela and Mark celebrated their special day with an amazing array of juxtaposing colors and lighting. The ceremony was full of old world charm in the courtyard, where the moon provided a unique glow. The night continued on with a barrel room reception where guests danced among the aging barrels. Best wishes to the new couple!

Erika and Rashelle's wedding was another gorgeous affair at V. Sattui Winery. This whimsical August evening could not have been more perfect for the two of them. These photographs, taken by Melissa Ochoa, showcased this beautiful couple on their special day. Everything was in bloom and the grapes were beginning to ripen during this warm summer night in the Napa Valley. We hope to see the two of them back soon!

V. Sattui hosted an intimate courtyard ceremony for Kim and Jake. This wedding was absolutely gorgeous and Kim looked stunning in her dress. From the warm weather, beautiful flowers, family and friends, nobody could have asked for more. Guests enjoyed our Carsi Chardonnay, and our Old Vine Pilgrim Zinfandel as they watched the newlyweds enjoy their night.

Elizabeth and Mitchell had a wonderful wedding on May 19, 2011. The wedding party was able to relax and enjoy themselves on the newly remodeled Vittorio's Terrace before the courtyard wedding ceremony. Once the reception began, and guests were seated, the couple had their first dance together. As soon as dinner was finished the celebration started and the dance floor was packed. Congratulations!

On Saturday, June 25, 2011 V. Sattui held a wonderful evening ceremony. Guests gathered at the fountain for a welcome bar and even ventured into the tasting room prior to the ceremony. Jessica and Niclas were joined by friends and family in the courtyard for the ceremony and soon after enjoyed a barrel room reception. As the night progressed, and the candles flickered, the dancing began. The dimly lit barrel room provided the perfect dance floor, and guests ventured back and forth between the dance floor and cellar club. Jessica and Niclas were all smiles, and we hope to see them soon!.

We were fortunate enough to have Christina & Chris share their wedding day with us here at V. Sattui! An elegant lawn ceremony was followed by a beautiful, clear night under the stars. Guests were served a spectacular dinner from Elaine Bell, and the ambiance in the barrel room couldn't have been more perfect. We wish the happy couple many more beautiful memories in the years to come and hope to see them soon!
