Riesling lovers will be very happy to know that we have just bottled the second vintage of our terrific 100% Napa Valley Riesling, grown entirely at our Henry Ranch and named “Secco” for its drier approach to the grape.
OLD-VINE ZINFANDEL
The 2005 Quaglia is a briary and brambly Zinfandel, similar in style to the spicy, peppery Howell Mountain Zins, but distinctively minty, with eucalyptus and licorice in the forefront, black raspberry in the middle and sweet oak in the finish.
The Italians like sparkling wines, but they prefer them lightly so "Frizzante" they say. Our Moscato is lighter-bodied, slightly carbonated, lower in alcohol and with just a little sweetness. We like them too!
The 35th Anniversary is a fruit-forward Zin, with abundant berry and spice aromas, medium tannins and a sweet, jammy finish. Its aromatic wild-berry character makes it a wonderful complement to spicy chicken and lamb dishes or old-fashioned, slow-cooked, barbequed ribs
Riesling is made throughout the world, with the best examples coming from Germany, France’s Alsace region, south Australia, the Marlborough region of New Zealand, Washington state and, of course, northern California. Although its style varies, the varietal is typically low in alcohol, high in natural acidity and has the aromas and flavors of citrus, apple, apricot, pineapple, peach and pear, with hints of earth and mineral.
This high-elevation, 82-acre vineyard with sweeping views of the Ukiah Valley, sells to only a handful of small, respected wineries, like Navarro, Rosenblum, Sean Thackrey and V. Sattui.
Pepper and spice and everything nice! Raisiny, this Mendocino County Zinfandel is a juicy mouthful of raspberry, black cherry and apricot flavors spiced with cracked peppercorns and dried red chilies.
New Vintage! This nearly dry, spicy white wine, known for its exotic aromas and flavors reminiscent of cinnamon, apricot, lychee and perfumed rose petals, has concentrated fruit flavors of delicate ripe pear plus mild spice balanced by supple acidity.
A lush and fruity dry rosé blend of Grenache (36%), Syrah (34%) and old-vine Carignane (30%) similar to the rosé wines of Provence. With its fresh raspberry fruit aromas combined with ripe cherry flavors, this delicately balanced wine with lively acidity pairs nicely with most appetizers, roasted meats and savory cheeses.
